ETCIL has Assistive Technology computer equipment on site for demonstration and use by our consumers, DARS providers and their clients, educators and the general public. In addition, training is available to assist with learning and use of the equipment. Among this equipment is a physical access computer that has Dragon Naturally Speaking, which is continuous speech dictation and voice navigation.
Also, we have Word Q and Speak Q which are educational programs that assist with typing by using word prediction and speech recognition. ETCIL also has vision loss computer software, Jaws, which is a screen reader, and Magic, which is a magnification program with speech loaded on the hard drive.
Also available for use is the Dolphin Super Nova Pen which is a screen reader. ETCIL also has a cognitive computer that has Wynn, a literacy software, as well as Intellikeys, which is a USB keyboard with a variety of key configurations (pictured below, being used by Austin Pruitt).
